Antique Sultanabad Carpet, Persia, early twentieth century
An elegant design of flowering vines and large rosettes in ivory and soft shades of blue and green repeats symmetrically across the terracotta field of this gracious antique Sultanabad. A somewhat more graphic interlacing crab border set against a lovely blue ground frames the field, with minor borders for accents.
